Chromecast Audio LED colours: Google Chromecast Audio is a compact and portable audio device that you can connect only to speakers through the aux cable. The only way to know its status is the LED light given in the device.
By its variation of light colour, we could able to identify the status of it. But Google Chromecast is out of that way. It is connected to the TV and its status will be displayed on the TV screen. Instead, the LED light plays a major role in Chromecast audio.
Meaning of Chromecast Audio LED Colours
There are two colours of LED in the Chromecast audio – white and orange. Also, two types of status will be shown, they are solid-state and pulsing state (flashing).
- Pulsing orange state: not ready to stream
If the Chromecast audio indicates pulsing orange colour it means that the Chromecast audio is just preparing itself for streaming or may be receiving an update. As it is based on the Chrome OS it receives a new version and updates itself automatically. At this status, you can’t use the device. You have to wait for some time until the pulsing orange colour stops. And also you should not disconnect the Chromecast audio from the power adapter.
- Pulsing white: Indicating to set up the device
If you are noticing the pulsing white colour it means that the device is not in connection from the network or it may need a setup. Follow the Chromecast audio setup manual to set up the device. Check the router to which the device is in connection. If you have changed it or else you may have to factory data reset the Chromecast audio.
Solid State Indication
- Solid white: ready to cast or casting
If the light indicated is solid white it means that the Chromecast audio device is ready to stream music. You could control the device with the help of the Google Home app. Once the Chromecast audio is in connection and ready to cast all devices can use it to stream music.
- Solid Orange: something went wrong with the Chromecast audio
If the light indicated in the device is solid Orange it means that the device is in trouble. At this status, you may try unplugging the power adapter, wait for few minutes and again plug in the power adapter. Otherwise, try using other adapters such as the mobile chargers which could give an output of 5V 1A. If it doesn’t work the last way is to factory data reset the Chromecast audio.
